My Svedka Taste of Summer...

Summer is finally here, especially with the onset of Memorial Day weekend finally here. It comes as no surprise that some well-known alcohol brands begin to launch brand new flavors, very fitting for the start of summer. Svedka launched two new flavors, Strawberry Colada and Orange Crème Pop, both screaming to be a cold refreshing drink in the sweltering heat bound to happen.
Upon entering the event I was greeted with a beautifully decorated glass, drowned in a mixed drink I couldn’t remember. The room was a bit sparse, but plenty of people there mingling and getting to know people. As I sipped my first drink, I felt the smoothness of the cocktail flow from my straw, it was phenomenal. Being the only one there, I had to make friends with the bartenders, and what friends they became.
The night progressed into a mixology session where one of the bartenders became the teacher of the night. That is where the guests got to make their own cocktails, and mingle with those people sitting at their table. This session however became a contest to see which table can produce the best mixed drink. The competition got fiery. Each table thought they were doing something amazing.
The first round was rather interesting; we learned what to do and what not to do for the second round. My table lost the first round, which was sad because our drink was mixed graciously; we just failed to place garnishes. The second round was my time to shine. I became the designated bartender and I had to make sure my table won. I mixed the Svedka Strawberry Colada, with some pineapple and orange juice, and coconut crème. Mixed it very well. It was a pleasant delight. And couldn’t forget the garnishes. Sadly, my table didn’t make it past the second tasting because there weren’t enough garnishes. But my table surely drank the cocktail.
The Svedka Taste of Summer event was full of characters, and everyone left the event happy. It was certainly worth the trip to the Fashion 40 Lounge and enjoy good company. I met a couple of great industry people, Ms. Steph Lova from Sirius XM was included. Hot Waterz was in the building as well, the featured rapper from VH1's "Gossip Game" that interviewed with Ms. Drama. Great company, great drinks, and great music is always a great way to get summer started the right way, just can’t forget the goal of not falling downstairs.
